The Tao Of The Gita:
Gita or Srimadbhagwat Gita, revealed by Lord Krishna, incarnation of God Vishnu, to his favorite disciple and friend Arjun, is one of the best spiritual scriptures, culmination of vedantic philosophy running through Upnishadas is also the guiding light in the darkness of ignorance and confusion , leading to the aim of life, Freedom and salvation.
According to Gita, ways of devotion, philosophical meditation and Karmayoga are the ways to our destination. Of the three, Karmayoga is the most lauded by god himself. Once adopted, it might also prove to be shortest. Also, after a certain level of awareness attained, the three paths start merging into one another. The diffences start fading. Like the saying of Tao-Te-Ching, '' The initiate see the mounatins and the river, the practicing does not see the mountain and the river, the aware see the mountain and the river.''
Tenets of Karmyoga are as follows.
one can not abstain from doing karma. By one's existence itself, one is doing Karma.
The karma, as well as the result of the karma as predestined by the one.
as one can not abstain, and as all karma are predestined, one should perform his duty with no attachment to the results but only with the spirit of performing a duty, performing an act of devotion, worship.
your actions become your worship.
Becoming a karmyogi helps in the following ways.
actions are done by spirit of duty, and not forced by attachment, aversion, ego, greed, hate, envy, blind ambition etc.
karma is caused by actions, as well as the spirit behind that action.
Karmayogi is not bound to his karma, as his act are devoted to the one.
So basically life is a worship for a karmayogi, but dont worry, its not that boring and tenuous. Rather, the faith in god and predestiny liberates mind from guilt, remorse etc. Otherwise, our mind is like a cage of monkeys, with all past events and feelings associated thereof, playing havoc all around. Nothing like a free mind, believe me, try it. In fact one of my basic tenets for myself are, '' Today wherever i am and whatever i am is because I had to be so and here on this day.'' Well, more about it later on.
This way karmayoga is spontaneity of actions, of karma as per the occasion, and
Tao is spontaneity, spontaneity is Tao.
