Owning Own Life!

In the face of every problem or failure, or threat there always are two options,

1. Blame others,
2. Take ownership and think if there is something that can be done for success or improvement or something that could have been done better.

Our objective is to have the best quality of life that we can, and the best future that can be achieved, and for that,

# We can either blame the weather for ill health or dress and live accordingly

# We can either blame others for our interpersonal/family/civil/matrimonial disputes or understand the roots of the issue and act to resolve them.

# We can blame others for our own bad health or introduce good habits to improve it,

# We can blame teachers for lack of knowledge or find the knowledge and learn,

#We can blame our capacity due to lack of time or stamina, or think about how we can do more in less time or with less effort and act accordingly, and further improve.

# We can blame others for lack of employment or select a skill, learn it, and excel to become the best choice for employers,

# We can blame own lack of resouces or explore how to achieve the results with same resources or how to arrange resources in best way.

#We can either blame our looks or work out how to succeed in spite of them or even through them. Rajpal Yadav, Tuntun, etc made their looks their USP and succeded by them.

#We can either look for people to blame, or look for people who overcame such issues and learn from them and get inspired by them.

Also, We live in an age where one can always find out how thousands of people resolve the same problems in the best manners, within minutes online, and learn from them or get assistance from the opposite part of the world. The Internet now also is the "Memory of the world" and there is endless information and opportunities to learn and improve.

Human are the most intelligent species and called Homo Sapiens, ie the intelligent man (species).

Oxford definition of Intelligence is : "the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills."

So, as humans, acquiring knowledge and skills is our basic nature and we should keep practicing it to retain it and also improve it.

A word of caution though , ownership should not become focussed on highlighting own mistakes in past, blaming self , carrying guilt for them externally and condemning self. Not at all!

Rather, ownership is about accepting self as one is and one was, accept that anyone can make mistakes  and then analysing own mistakes for learning and improvement only.

So, most of the problems can be solved, all roadmaps to success can be drawn and it all starts with taking ownership of one's own life.

Being a good me rather that a bad him!

In social circles, among co-workers, within friends we often get the feeling of lesser-ness compared to someone we highly appreciate. It may be his/her  behaviour, smartness, attitude, leadership or any other attribute that we appreciate and one may find oneself seriously wanting in that attribute per his own assessment.

However trying to be that person maybe a serious folly.
First of all no one has been sent empty hand to this world. We all r unique in our own ways. Even if we r unaware, we may posses unique skills, arts, ways and quirks of our own far surpassing many others.
Before getting introduce to computers at an age of 20, I never imagined I could be a near-wizard on them.
Similarly before climbing the stage or
Picking up a drawing book I never imagined I was so good in them.
So shun all fears, pick up things, fail in some and excel in some. Its worth it.
Also many of use feel as a misfit many a timed and underate self due to this alleged shortfall.
Trust me it's not a shortfall at all. All the great achievements of of human history have been mostly due to some misfit, some oddball, some idiosyncratic guy, rather than run of mill standard shape and size cool people.
So cherish ur oddness, it's ur out-of-box-Ness, ur originality that comes handy many a times and accomplishes where the "fit" ones fail one after other.

So, first no need of feeling smaller, we r just different.
Celebrate your you-Ness, after all there is only one of you in the whole damn world.

Secondly appreciate others, try to improve on ur shortfalls too, but don't ever try to be another copy of that person. That might turn out to be a fiasco as while two of that person might be excess, also in effort of becoming him/her u may turn out  to be neither u nor him.

So lets just identify our shortcomings, improve upon them, find our unique skills and excel in them and confidently take our place.

Becuase as we discussed used, its always far far better to be a Great version of self that being a poor copy of someone else.

Intelligence ?

What is Intelligence ?

Intelligence of a mind is an Idea, a construct which we all believe to exist, yet would find very difficult to define or pinpoint.
To start with let us take one of the widely accepted definitions,
From "Mainstream Science on Intelligence" (1994),

"A very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience."

Going by the above, for an mind to be intelligent we need a mind which is not at all having a fixed or rigid approach. It should be able to see any problem or situation ideally from a 360° sweep, It should be fast, it should evolve and it should learn quickly. In short it should be flexible, it should be open.

Why does a child learn computers or smarrphone easily, which defeat all effort of many elders. Because, a child has a mind, that is relatively empty. No ideas of right and wrong, better or worse, Good or bad. A clean slate, just like a freshly formatted computer. However, With time and age, the mind gets crammed to the hilt with time, with education, teachings, preachings and social customs. Finally the mind is so rigid, one dimensional, so hard anchored to his textbooks, his beliefs, his faiths that he also looses his learning skills and adaptability.  The same child who once imagined super powers and flying trains will skoff at any new idea at his twilight end. What has happened in between ? With every concept he was taught in class and told to remember and believe, he lost some of his imagination and creativity. Learning starts from questions, why, why not, what if and so on.  Stop the questions and mind ceases to evolve. Intelligence goes south. Finally you will have a mind crammed chokeful of data, with heaps of information, a little knowledge and zero wisdom.

Who would have known Newton, Galileo, Einstein, if they had believed everything they had been told.

Knowledge comes from proofs, proofs are recived from experiments, experiments come from hypothesis, Hypothesis are born when someone starts to differ from his textbooks , from  one question!

Intelligence is adaptability, creativity, imagination, observation, experimenting and some courage, the courage to question.
To summarize, what we believe to be intelligence, which helps a man to survive, to evolve and to be successful is nothing but a fluid Mind, a mind that sees every new issue and new problem as a child would, as if seeing for the first time, with curiosity, with eagerness, with imagination, without any burden of teachings, preachings and customs and that is all it is.
So, go forth and explore, the universe is all yours!

The Overheated Chip !

In many ways the human mind and brain can be compared to the computer os and the hardware.
When a child is born, he is born with minimal capabilities and information. He knows just to breath and to partake of his food, i.e. milk as per gods design. He can not see. He can not control the limbs, other organs or the natural needs. He can hear and the only response he has is the  crying. Crying of a child can be for 13 different reasons from hunger, pain, cold, hot in short anything abnormal.
Then in a few weeks, the device drivers of the optical, audio and the motor units start getting installed. Then starts a massive data uptake, compilation, linking and summary of the information collected continuously of all sense organs.
Then more complex programs of speech, identification etc are loaded and in a few months a fully loaded supercomp is running at full speed.
At the twilight, the reverse happens. Memory blocks start getting corrupted. Drivers fail. Motor mechanisms also become slow and unsteady and so on.

What happens in between?
In the period of youth and afterwards when the hardware is finally set up, it can not develop or repair any more but starts getting corrupted block afte block.
Also, if one could see inside the task manager of an adult human, he would find at least 20 programs running on the front end and a hundred in the background. Remember, how Windows start shaking and hanging at just 50 programs. These programs include the boss, the colleagues, the life partner, kids, school, promotion, house, emi, tax, investment, neighbors, friends, relatives, nation, politics, cricket, vacation, bills, past, present, future and so on. Many of these background programs take over in idle time i.e. sleep in shape of dreams. That is why dreams show us what is running undreneath the conscious mind and are called "Golden road to the subconscious." or something like that.
So we are looking here at a chip multitasking and severely overloaded and overclocked. The result is obvious, burning out if the chip at a fast rate and reduced life, besides reduced efficiency coz any productive work like your ppt would take forever.
So what to do to save ourselves from burning out early as well as fatal health repercursions and also to improve our efficiency and thereby our success.
Easy, the same as tweak our comp.
First, unwanted programs running in the background need to be terminated. Most important of them are memories of past and 10-20 year plans of future. The paat is already dead and the future will be allright if you do well in the present. Second is the worrying part. Worrying a lot doesnt help in solution. After that, things have to be let go, upon the trust in God, destiny as well as the confidence in oneself. We will tackle it when it happens. You can not plan every move and response in life. Let go the illusion of being in control and take it easy a bit. Worrying 24 hours will not help more than worrying 8 hours or so. What will help is, relaxing a bit and tackle the issue again after a while. A relaxed and calm mind can tackle almost all situations.
To these ends most helpful is meditation. It helps in calming the mind, relaxing, clearing, improving focus, summarizing and finding hidden solution in peripheral vision. With a bit of physical exercise or breathing exercise results can be wonderful.
Getting good 8 hours comfortable  sleep is most essential as a necessity. The REM sleep of 2 hours is the basic requirement for repair and maintenance of body and mind. The Body and mind are our most vital equipment, which has no upgradation, replacement and sometimes no repair as well. Therefore let us not burn them out and give sufficient cooling. Sleep also helps in defragging the mind and is almost a meditation. That is why the most wonderful ideas are born in early sleep or just at the time of awakening.

So friends lets handle the hardware and software with a bit of love and care and you will love the long and wonderful life you will have and yes without any error mesaages.

Quotes of Dalai Lama-1

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”

Love is the absence of judgment.”

My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.”
There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.’
No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster.”

Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.”

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

Silence is sometimes the best answer”

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”

Choose to be optimistic, it feels better.”
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.”

If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it’s not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.”

This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”
Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.”
When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways–either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.”
People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.”
The whole purpose of religion is to facilitate love and compassion, patience, tolerance, humility, and forgiveness.”
If you can cultivate the right attitude, your enemies are your best spiritual teachers because their presence provides you with the opportunity to enhance and develop tolerance, patience and understanding.”

Purpose of this Blog?

This blog is a small effort to share whatever little knowledge to improve life and happiness I have gathered by God's grace.
We, the God's own children are not meant to be wearied down by the daily life of bread and butter, carrier and status, small things and yet smaller countless things till life passes away. Our father in heaven wanted us to be Happy, Enjoy our stay on this planet, Hold our head high and be all that we could be. We are not the weak lambs that we have been led to believe from the childhood itself. Everyone of us has a Picasso, Da Vinci, Einstein, Mozart, Elvis or someone greater inside him. These were the people who believed themselves capable of more and more and more. Unfortunately, from the childhood itself, we learn to believe everyone but ourself. We learn only as much as we are asked to. We develop (i.e.discover) only as much of ourselves as life forces us to. We are like the She-Mammoth of "Ice age" movie who was raised by the possums and is now scared of eagles.
So, dear friend, welcome to the journey of Happiness, Peace, Success ending in the Self discovery and the Liberation.
Let us share, discuss, discover and spread Joy!
